Benefits for Disabled Young Adults

Young adults need to be considered disabled under the same regulations that govern the disability determination that govern all other adults. However adults between the ages of 18 – 24 need much fewer work credits to be considered eligible to receive benefits. Under the age of 24, you might qualify if you have 6 credits earned in the 3-year period ending when your disability starts and you considered disabled under the adult disability regulations.
