Interesting, there is a listing under the mental impairments for children that would include Tourette's Syndrome---under the Somatoform, Eating, and Tic Disorders. However, there is only a Somatoforms listing for adults. Does this mean that once you turn 18, you are no longer disabled from Tourette's? Or does it mean that you would have to show that your Tourette's symptoms equal in severity to a listing or receives a mental RFC for "less than unskilled work"?

Or it could be due to the fact that Tourette's Syndrome could be "disabling" based on the childhood listings (impairment in age-appropriate activities) but tends not to result in inability to work. Of course, I heard that 60% of people with Tourette's Syndrome have ADHD (usually the inattentive type), and OCD in not uncommon. I wonder if comorbid (co-occurring) impairments could increase the chances of equaling in severity to a listed impairment or increase the chances of getting a mental RFC for "less than unskilled work."

Adults who have Tourette's can win disability cases.
