I recently adopted a child and was told to reapply as his payee. What are the guidelines for determining elgibility?

I think that Social Security benefits based on the child's parent's record should continue.

If he is drawing SSI based on his own disability, those benefits might be affected by your income or your spouse's.

Assuming that the child lives with you, the Administration will probably not give you much trouble about getting the check transferred.
