I am sorry, I don't know. That is a state law question, that turns on the law wherever you are. You might ask legal aid in your city; they will probably know.

I'm sorry; that is a welfare question, not a Social Security question, and the answer might well vary depending on your state. So if I guessed something I would probably mislead you. Keep searching.

I am currently receiving welfare. I get food stamps, 68.00 every two weeks, 205.00 towards my rent & Medicaid.
I have a hearing scheduled for social security disabilty shortly. If I get my SSD, what will I be able to continue to receive from welfare?

It could end it all, or it might not. That will not be a big problem with food stamps. If your are getting a "Section 8" rental allowance, I don't think that will be affected. It might or might not end Medicaid; that could be a big problem if Medicare, which comes with Social Security disability, does not come immediately, or if you depend on Medicaid for medicines, which are funded not at all or poorly under Medicare. You should sit down with a lawyer and be sure what will happen. Take care.
