I am currently on SSI. My claim is being reviewed,
I go for a med exam next week. If I should be found
no longer disabled, and ask for a reconsideration. Would joining a Voc Tec Reabilatation program change the SSI judgement? I am living in the State of Nebraska.

Also if I'm cut off of SSI how soon would I lose my benefits. If I don't ask for a reconsideration?

Reply by Paul Maybe. If you are working on a plan through Vocational Rehabilitation to try to become more employable, the standard for review is more favorable to you. You must be sure your plan qualifies, though. I would ssit down with a lawyer; maybe try your local legal aid.

If you don't ask for a reconsideration, the Administration ccuts you off immediately, and maybe asks for a little money back, too.

Take care and good luck. Get an attorney if at all possible.
