I am a 64 year old female with 2 years of unapplicable tech school and some college. I have done mostly electronic assembly or machine operation. I have also done some bookkeeping but mostly before computers. I have taken some computer and accounting courses but have not used them in work. I was laid off from my permanent position in 2000 due to missing too much work. I have not worked long term since then. Please see contined in next post.

I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2000. My blood glucose in in good control but I due have diabetic neuropathy. There is some question is the neuropathy in my hands is due to diabetes or carpal tunnel. the only insurance I have available is veterans benefits. the VA will not operate since there is not guarantee that it will cure the problem. I also have spinal stenosis and had lumbar laminectomy and removal of synovial cyst in October of 2004. I have not worked since that time. I worked at ocassional temporary jobs after being laid off in 2000. I am presently unable to stand for more than 15 to 30 minutes at a time. My walking is limited by COPD. I took early SS at 62.
I filled out the SSDI forms online and was told to contact the local SSA office. What are my chances of getting disability at this time and would I get full benefits then or what? Someone said it would increase my benefits after I turn 65 also if I was able to collect?
