Answers to your questions about social security disability.

Contact Us

If you want us to help you, the best way to contact us is by telephone. Call us on our Greenville line at 235-2350, on our Spartanburg line at 582-7882, or toll free from anywhere at 1-800-775-3985.

When you call, it is usually a good idea to go ahead and set an appointment. Paul is often as not out of the office, at a hearing or talking to a doctor. When he gets back, he might call you several times and miss you. In our experience, if you can get to Spartanburg or Greenville, you will be more satisfied by this approach. We will be glad to talk to you in person, without charge.

If meeting with Paul is a problem, and he is not available when you call, set up an appointment to talk to him on the telephone at a certain time. This way you will be sure that you and he will be able to talk promptly.

When you call, if you have recently been turned down, please be sure to let us know; if possible give us the exact date on the denial notice. Be positive that your appointment is before the deadline to appeal shown on the notice. Most, but not all, deadlines are 60 days from the date of the notice.

One exception to the 60 day rule is a termination case. In that sort of case, you have 60 days to appeal, but if you want your benefits to continue, you must appeal within 10 days. It is often a good idea to go down to the Social Security office immediately to appeal this sort of case, and call later.

E-mail is new to us, so please do not use it to contact us about anything important to you, and do not rely on us to respond. Perhaps this will change as we gain experience with this medium.
