Hi. I just had a question about short-term disability benefits and "possible" seizures. I say "possible" because I don't have a history of seizures at all, and I'm sheduled to see an epilepsy specialist. I recently had a black-out while going through a drive-thru. From what the police say, I was apparently having what they called a "grand mal" seizure. I was very pale, and I ended up hitting the car in front of me. I have no recollection of this though. I only remember waking up in the back of the ambulance. To make a long story short, I ended up seeing a neurologist who told me I experienced a seizure. He also recommended that I not drive for 3 months, and I was started on antiseziure medication. Well I have to drive 35-40 minutes (one way) using a tollway to get to my job. I work for a city hall, and I was wondering if there is any way I could claim short-term disability benefits until I find out more about my condition? Sincerely, Randy
