I was told that SS Disability will want to re-evaluate me every three years. Can SS Disability really award it to me (I have been collecting for about a year) and then take it away? A. They are supposed to review every 3 years. But their reviews are often delayed and they often don't look too closely, so it is not as bad as it sounds. But you might get reviewed. If they try to terminate you, file the appeal within 10 days and ask for the benefits to continue and they will last a long time while you are appealing. Q. Can you tell me how i go about finding a doctor that will not just think im some sort of faker or fraud and that will truly understand my situation. A. Once you get to North Carolina, seek out a support group and ask them; or try several doctors, and after you have been going a while ask that doctor if he will help you if you are reviewed. If he doesn't say, "yes," find another doctor. Worry is useful and productive when it causes you to take actions you need to, like searching for a helpful doctor. But once you have done all you can, you need to try to stop worring. I know that is hard; talk to the docs about it.
